| Short Duration Signals No Longer An Issue for PLCs |
Retrofitting in-process force measurement can present many challenges. Some of these include sensor integration, and high production cycle rates; sometimes the sensing system or PLC just can’t respond fast enough for reliable performance. OES has developed an effective solution for these applications with a new Piezo Strain sensor combined with an amplifier module featuring Sample Hold.
The Sample Hold feature of the Piezo Strain Transducer and Amplifier Module (model MMU) from OES Inc. allows even older PLC systems to stay in synch with the fastest production cycles. The MMU captures and “holds” the peak reading until the PLC can scan and reset the sample hold value. This feature ensures high reliability in force measurement for fast machine cycles.
OES is an experienced leader with in-process quality monitoring technologies, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2005. OES Inc. develops and deploys many extremely effective “in-process test and monitoring” solutions for a wide range of applications, including wire crimping, tube end-forming, crimp forming, riveting, and other pressing and forming applications.
