Our company story:
OES was founded in 1980 in London, Ontario, Canada. It initially employed only one of its 3 original founders with a single focus on servicing industrial controls. Within a short period of time, a second of the original founders came on board full time and the company's focus broadened to include designing and manufacturing control systems for large custom applications. Within a year, the third of the three founders came on board and the company's focus was again broadened to include circuit board level electronic controls design and manufacture. Since those exciting days in the early 1980's, OES has continued to grow and prosper, hiring energetic and bright individuals and providing challenging opportunities for them to grow as well. OES now employs about 50 people, many of whom are graduates from our local colleges and universities.

Our home:
In 1984, OES purchased one acre of land and built their first facility, a 5000 square foot building on Blakie Road, just down the road from their current facility. This building was expanded twice, in 1989 and 1994, before the company eventually outgrew it. In 2000, OES purchased 4 acres of land and built a 20,000 square foot high tech facility that it now calls home.

Our quality:
In 1998, OES earned its ISO9001:1994 certification with the first 0 major and 0 minor nonconformance certification audit that the auditor had ever seen.  In 1998, OES upgraded its certification to ISO9001:2000. All of OES's assembly and production staff are J-Std-001 certified.

Our growth:
OES's growth is the result of three primary factors: the growth of our people, the development of our technologies, and the growth of our strategic customer relationships.

People: OES has always placed an emphasis on hiring the brightest and most energetic people possible. In some cases, this has meant creating positions for individuals when there were no positions available or no need to do so. The right people bring the talent and energy. OES creates the opportunity for both to prosper.

Technologies: OES has always been a leader in technology development in the marketplaces where they have chosen to compete. With numerous patents to their credit, and many other acknowledged "world's firsts", OES remains committed to apply and invest up to 25% of total company resources into research and development activities.

Strategic Customers: OES has made significant investments developing strategic relationships with 'like-minded' customers in various non-competing marketplaces. Having values and overall company objectives in common, OES invests its valuable technology development resources towards the specific objectives of the customer, confident that as the customer grows and benefits, OES will too. The two main common values that OES looks for in such relationships are the desire and proven ability to be the leader in their chosen field, and the recognition and understanding of true value.
